That was a lovely, varied, sun-shiny – and did I say lovely? – summer vacation!
A week in Barcelona. Now, that city has a lot to offer – in terms of food, sights, weather, ambience, you name it. We’d been before *mumble, mumble* years ago – the reunion most certainly was a good one.
A middle week with some home relaxation and a few days in Sweden. And, as the raisin in the hotdog end as the proverbial saying goes, a week with the troop scouts on the Danish island of Bornholm. Terrific week – such a privilege to be a leader for those kids!
(the photo at the top is from the Hammershus castle ruin on Bornholm – the group wit the lamps is an evening visitor group that happened to come in just as our “event” there was done)
Basically, they not only rise to every occasion and accept and deliver on all the challenges we throw at them – they do so in good spirits, taking care of each other, getting into the fun and exciting stuff of course but don’t shy away from the more boring tasks, either.
(for those who’d like a wee peek and are not scared by Danish language, the blog and tweets are here)
